Introduction

The XML Gateway is an automated service for Incorporating UK Limited Companies by posting a single XML document from a remote server directly to the gateway. The system was designed to streamline the process of registering multiple companies and is recommended for businesses that wish to develop their own data collection interface and relay the information to our systems for processing with Companies House. The following document provides a technical specification for developers and webmasters who wish to utilise the service.

Overview

The XML Gateway is a simple Data Migration Service that enables company information to be transmitted from a remote server directly to The Company Wizard for processing. The service works in conjunction with our reseller service for individuals and business who register multiple companies in the UK. The system is based on the submission of a single XML document to the gateway page using the HTTP POST method.

The Gateway will then validate the XML document against a schema and will run further checks to ensure compliance. On completion of this procedure the gateway will output HTML to the browser that can be interpreted by the presenter. Any errors that may occur during this process will be displayed to the presenter otherwise the Gateway will indicate that the procedure completed successfully.

Who will benefit from the service?

The XML Gateway and Reseller services will be particularly suited to accountants, solicitors and legal professionals who regularly incorporate Limited Companies in the UK. Specifically the XML Gateway has been created for third party presenters who already have or are proposing to develop their own data collection interface on their website or back office systems.

Prerequisites

In order to use the XML Gateway you will require the following:

1. A reseller account with The Company Wizard.
2. Credit available in your account to submit at least one incorporation.
3. A system for collecting the required information and formating the data into an XML Document.

There are no ongoing obligations to using the XML Gateway or any of our other reseller services. You only pay for the Companies you 'Successfully' register with us.
